What is Dawn?

It's a way for you to earn from what you already do online, as well as an easier, safer, harder-to-kill system for hosting content.

Why does the world need Dawn? What functionality does it offer which justifies its existence? How will this benefit be experienced and by whom?

The world needs Dawn because.....

the current model (Facebook, Quora, Steemit, Reddit, etc) doesn't compensate users for the value of their work.
Existing cryptocurrency systems are too difficult to use for applications like e-commerce.
E-commerce is just too damn hard as it is today.

The logic driving dawn is that because we as a species have all of these amazing connected systems, we should USE THEM, and they should eradicate poverty.

What kinds of people, groups, organisations, companies, Institutions, International Bodies, Governments will want to have the use of Dawn at their disposal? Is the proposed pricing structure justifiable?

Dawn can drastically simplify many common types of processes and transactions for all of the parties mentioned. The “Pricing” structure— which pays users for creativity, is justifiable because by increasing the number of currency users, we are also increasing the size of the “currency area.” it's a win-win.

Is there a global benefit to mankind via the existence of Dawn?

YES! Once dawn is operational, anyone will be able to earn online, not just those who can jump through all of the hoops currently required by aspiring online entrepreneurs that eat too much of their time, like:

registering a company
opening a bank account
opening a merchant account
securing their web site

Sometimes, people are prohibited from prospering by regulation. We'd like to see that made impossible. Great ideas die because it takes time to “register” a company. Everyone has the right to commerce, and to the pursuit of greatness.

Is there an equal and opposite threat?

The combined forces of multinationals and governments unleashed against the planet's people.

How will the development, testing, assurance modelling and launch of dawn be executed?

By a swarm of developers and open projects who operate globally.

Has the DAWN team prepared a full business plan inclusive of stress testing procedures and objective reporting protocols?

No. Dawn is not a business. Dawn is a global service provided by individuals. Predicting what the individuals and companies connected to dawn might do with it is not possible.

How far away are: Beta Launch, Alpha Launch?

Alpha - Sunday? We try to launch a test network each Sunday. I have good feelings about Sunday. But we can't say really— one Sunday it's going to work, that's for sure. Once the canonical chain is launched, we are in beta, and beta will last forever.

What Contingency Planning and Risk Management Planning have been put in place?

Dawn is an experimental technology project and is composed of risk. This is one reason why we are not accepting investments, only donations.

With regard to users, everyone needs to know that “Dawn is an experimental technology project and is composed of risk.” Security employed includes:

HTTPS everywhere (not yet, mind you but easy with letsencrypt)
Pre-built login components (boilerplate)
gRPC

The rest is dependent on the user's preferences and the user's key. Users should be very careful with their keys, this cannot be stressed emphatically enough.

What is the total Development Budget? How long does the Revenue Modelling suggest that full expenditure will be recovered?

Currently development is funded by donors and I think that there's 1 bitcoin in the pot, but I'd have to ask @instructor2121 to find out. We don't model revenue.

What is the structure of the entity of ownership? Domicile?

None. Zero. None. The domicile is decidedly Earth.

Is there an Investor Prospectus or Information Memorandum? Under which jurisdiction will the controlling entity be accountable?

No. This is because we do not take investments. We only accept donations to fund our experimental technology project. Our chain isn't controlled by a company, that would weaken it.
