DIY - My new homemade amp

My friends know me as a bit of a tinkerer. Always making my own things and they aren't always amazing but I learn from each half-success and this time I've got myself a great amp that will fit in my backpack for my long-term travels. My new trip starts in New Zealand in July and will venture onto the south of France in early August and then anywhere from there...

So here's a bit of a show-an'-tell. I used the active components of a Yamaha THR-5 amp because the reverb on this thing sounds like smooth butter. And I love butter.

By no means am I a professional, I have a go and if it works, I'm pretty happy with that. I ordered this aluminium case from Hong Kong which cost me 50 bucks and 2 months to arrive.

But after a long wait - here she is, I've called her Mordrid and like my other creations - she's a work of art...

And a sexy switch...

And a couple of sexy plugs! One for 12volt recharge (a decent battery source with recharge option is hard to come by in a battery powered amp)...

This being her sexy battery (a motorcycle battery)...

And by non-appearance due to having been consumed and used - the one and only - epoxy resin! (and of course good ole, duct tape).

Thanks for popping by, I hope you enjoyed this excursion into my latest DIY project.

All the best,
