Morning Chrysalis - Poem + Dsound Reading

► Listen on DSound
► Listen from source (IPFS)

Duvet chrysalis twitches.
A languid hiss of breath
encased in pupal state,
engorged from mornings’
rekindled embrace.

Yawning summer’s quilted
heat - my optic nerves rebel.
Pupils swell, reflecting shapes
in dawn’s pellucid knell.

Outside the city stirs.
Car horns, rumbling trucks,
cooing pigeons merge
in sublime sluice,
diffuse smile crinkles
your upper lip,
the flicker of eyelashes
as you slip
from dream
to flashes
and reticent awakening.
