Steemfest Dreams
dreaming mosaic tiled miles
of domed Krakow skyline.
Dreaming our time to shine,
blockchain framed ecosystem,
enflamed binary thoughts,
sublime naughts and ones.
Dreaming of fleeting sunsets
and snowy flowing coats
draped over steeples,
floating flakes in night's
sharp embrace.
Dreaming Krakow lights,
baselines alight in celebration,
staccato flowing pinnacles
laying memories in cessation
of limitations.
Dreaming of steemfest
conversations, building
the building blocks
of our future-proof
blockchain-nation.
Dreaming of planning,
to remove poverty's trappings,
dapp-themed rapping
in decentralized avatars-
dreaming vodka
to warm the cockles,
and the northern star
winking at this
brave new world.
Dreaming of writing
my part in this steem-story,
and watching other's...
journeys unfurl.

Making my Mark at Steemfest 3
I am a blogger and creative writer who has been posting almost daily on steemit for just under a year, it is actually my steem birthday tomorrow. Check out my blog tomorrow if you want to celebrate with me š š°
There are many reasons why I want to attend steemfest 2018, obviously one of them is to promote myself and my blog. If I make it along expect poetry, creative vibes and travel stories. I blog around all of these subjects and have a passion for creative writing esspecially.
Another reason I'm keen to make it to this steemfest, is to network and build connections to further the impact of a charity I have helped to set up on the blockchain. I recently undertook sndbox's summercamp challenge and after a lot of hard work am very proud to have been selected for their cohort 2 program. As part of sndbox's summercamp we had to build a project, the one I chose to help bring to life was called projectgiving. This amazing blockchain charity has already had a successful launch, raising over $100 for an initiative in Tanzania called Yokaenso, check out the link to read more about the initiative and see what we do.

I'm also keen to learn from all of the experienced developers in attendance to further my knowledge and understanding of the technical side of the steem blockchain.
I have a plans in development toward building some type of bridge between traditional publishing and steemit in the creative fields. Many talented fiction and poetry writers on steemit publish quality works daily, some of which are of mainstream publishing standard. Unfortunately most journals and anthologies, will only accept work which is previously unpublished (they want first publishing rights). Although in its infancy, my current idea revolves around the possibility of steemit anthologies in partnership with publishing houses. However, the sky is the limit in regards to trying to make something bigger out of the seed of this idea. I see steemfest 3 as a place where ideas can metamorphosis into projects, a melting pot of creativity where writers can learn from coders, designers can collaborate with film makers and with these unique meeting of minds, great things can grow.
Why I Need Your Help
I will be brief in explaining my financial situation as I'm not a natural complainer and would much rather be pushing forward with a positive attitude than bemoaning situations which are difficult or impossible to change.
My situation is that I have suffered from a chronic GI (gastrointestinal) illness over the last 6 years that has caused many debilitating symptoms, the worst being fatigue. It took 4 years for me to receive a positive and accurate diagnosis and I have been unable to work much in the last 3 years. As things have slowly improved over the last year I have thrown myself full blooded into steemit. The upshot of this sorry tale is that I am broke. Despite having some SBD saved up, I have been vainly waiting for the market to turn around so that I can pay off a portion of a utility debt which is well in excess of a $1000. Not much chance of that in this market. I haven't blogged at all about any of this, as it's something that I find pointless talking about. I'm explaining my situation in this post, as it may seem from my blog that I am quite successful for a minnow. Looks can be deceiving, I power up the vast majority of my steem (because I believe in the platform) and 90% of what I have in steem power comes from earning as a curie curator. Anyway, this is my situation and it will be impossible for me to afford to make it to steemfest 3 without getting in further debt. I feel I have a lot to bring to steemfest in regards to promoting Project Giving, my own project plans and overall creative energy. Winning a ticket to steemfest 3 would bring my personal dreams in finding success on steemit one step nearer and I hope that the networking opportunities could also propel Project Giving to the next level, enabling us to support communities in poverty around the world. Thank you for reading and considering me in this amazing competition. I will keep steeming and dreaming... always š
