Anarchapulco: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

As most of you know, the 5th annual #Anarchapulco conference just ended... and things were quite different this year.

There were still TONS of amazing, beautiful, powerful humans. There were still some of the greatest speakers on the planet. I still had a life-changing experience.

Unfortunately, there was also a lot of disrespect, dishonesty, and mistreatment of the speakers & vendors who make the event such a wonderful experience for everyone.

This is quite a long video (about 30 minutes), and I actually spent almost the first half discussing the history of the event & my experience in previous years, because this has been a beautiful and profound event for me, which is why I'm so sad to see it derailed and the people that made it great taken advantage of.

I've been talking to MANY folks involved in the event, and have heard stories of basically the same treatment from most all of them, but unfortunately many are hesitant to speak out because they work for sponsors, they're afraid of not being invited back, etc.

If you know me, you know I don't give a damn about money, except insofar as how it can help me make the world a more peaceful & free place, and how it can help me feed lots of people.

I held off on speaking out about these things myself, because I had thousands of dollars invested in the event, and didn't want to risk getting uninvited and having no way to pay my dad back for that loan.

Now that things are over, I've already lost about $1000, and it seems that many don't want to speak out about their experience, I guess it falls on me. At this point the only thing they can do to me is keep the ~$200 they collected for my raw desserts workshop.

In case the images in the video are hard to read, I put them on Imgur as well: https://imgur.com/a/xVIdEKG
