When you only got a hundred years to live... or just less, "I would say." If the first part rings a bell, you probably know where it comes from.
If not, let me refresh your memory just right below.
The second part is the most common. It's difficult to see a lot of people reaching even the nighties. Life wears us down. And most of the time we're not aware of it. And this is not about living. Many live by the moment, but I think it has to do with the quality of life we have.
This involves wellness, physically and mentally. Both are equally important and we know that both complement each other. Very few of us lead lives totally healthy. Our surrounding and culture also contribute.
Having said that, I cannot help but thinking about some people in a certain region whose lifespan extend long compared to other regions.
People from Asia
People from Japan and China, to name a few, tend live longer. And if we observe carefully, we detect how different they perceive the world. They also eat better... much of their cuisine is based on plants and organic ingredients without chemical components and very low in fat.
But speaking about perception, they take their time to consider things, either bad or good. I think that helps them cast away any stress. There's no rush, not because they don't act, rather because they understand certain things will happen no matter what they want. And the important thing is how they react on them.
Another sign that catches my attention is their diverse types of meditation. Whatever you choose to practice, it works as an invigorating boost to fuel your body. Definitely, they harbor a type of life that we all must consider.
Looking in the mirror
After some time in this earth, many people look in the mirror and see how time has consumed their vitality. We spend our life enjoying every moment, which is good. But some of those moments also come with a price. They age us.
We get educated, reaching an acceptable level of knowledge. Others get wiser in order to solve alt least some mysteries before their time is up. And during that time we don't thinking about it. Like any youngster, time doesn't look so important. And when we make a reference about it, it looks so slow.
But we get into a certain age (middle age), time looks fast. And this is just the perception of living and see all the changes in our body and mind (concepts).
Counting the days
As the song above suggests, through all the stages of our life time changes us all. But the truth about it is that with every piece of moment in this material life we need to make the most out of it.
Each day can turn up bad or good. But it is just a moment in a chain. The thing is how large can we make that chain... IF any.
