My name is Gbenga Thompson Awojinrin and I am a year 2 (200Level) student studying Petroleum Engineering at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.

In the first year, the school preferentially offers new students accommodation in school for a subsidized amount. But starting from year 2, we have to wait for at least 6 weeks before being considered for accommodation.

Not wanting to miss classes, I partnered with a friend to rent a room outside school. I had to contribute 30,000 naira, which is about $85 or thereabouts.

With what I had left, I had to buy stuff in the room, as well as food. I recently won a contest hosted by @stach and used the money to purchase more foodstuff as our supply was running low.

I resumed school about three weeks ago and the portal for fee payment has been open for longer than that.

Currently I have less than 5,000 naira in my bank account and my fees add up to roughly 40,000naira. And some lecturers have been requesting for textbooks, materials and equipment that are quite expensive too

I don't know how I'll get this amount to pay before the deadline as my mum tells me things at home are kind of tight at the moment.

That's me with the award given me for having a first class CGPA at the end of year1.

So I am soliciting for whatever assistance you can provide me. I have some SBD in my account which I intend cashing out if things dont get better, but even then it won't be enough.

I am appealing to all well-meaning people out there to please render any assistance they feel they can as it could go a long way to helping me pay for my tuition.
