Yesterday I posted a video to this blog showing you an easy move to stretch out your back.
Here is another easy move you can do to help your spine feel better.
Today we will work on the soft tissue on either side of your spine.
This first poster shows you the place we are going for. It is not about the bones of your spine - but instead it is about the soft tissue on either side of it.
I made these posters quite some time ago and used them on the @fitinfun blog, but now here at @bxlphabet, the focus is on exercise so I'm dropping them here. I would really like your feedback. Does the poster above make sense to you?
Hopefully the answer is yes.
So now, we need to find you a corner wall to lean back on as seen here:
Look for a "point" like this, even an open door frame will work. You are looking for something you can dig into your spine.
Now, lean into it like our friend here.
GENTLY!
And as always - breathe!
- a lot
- heavily
- with purpose
Here is the top poster again. You are going to work one side into the point of the wall and then the other side. NOT the bones of the spine itself.
Now, walk away. Stretch it out a bit. Reach for the sky with your arms. Bend over. Try the move from yesterdays video again.
After a few minutes, go back to the corner wall again. Lean again and see how you feel.
So should have some blood flow going, your spine should be looser, and this move should now feel very good.
You can
- turn your head back and forth
- lift and release your shoulders
- lift your arms
And again:
Pretend these guys have the point of the wall behind them. You might not dip as low as the guy on the left (I can't), but you can lift your arms up and out!
And them maybe you might be ready to do a bit of a dance move!
Try this one!
She says "easy" but HA!. Extend even 10%-20% of what she is doing (this tiny little thing) and you will get a great benefit.
Modify! Don't do too much.
If you like this one do it a few times a week for many 2-3 weeks and you will be amazed at your improvement. I like this lady and she have many other short and fairly easy videos on her channel.
I find videos like this with the search of either of these terms:
- easy exercise
- easy dance workout
Then I use the filter and choose "short." I'm not looking for a 20 minute video. 2-4 minutes in enough.
So that was a quick 10-15 minutes and now you should feel great. Be proud of yourself.
After this, you can go on with renewed vigor or maybe try one on the moves below.
The lunging or cat and cow might fit the bill!
