I am not going to talk about what this church is about and how was it built and who built it and any other history of it. I am taking this opportunity to share with you some of the pictures I've taken today when I was in it. The structure was amazing. If you would like to find out further detail of it, feel free to find out from Wikipedia.
Front entrance with twin spire
Since years ago when I was still a very young person, I always wondering why do they build towers beside the church. Do they really put a sniper there like those in the combat movies? Later we know, it was for the bells. And sniper do make use of the tower during war so they could have a better view of their enemies.
West wing
西翼
There's been many occassion I asked myself why do churches build two extra sides? Now I know these are the arms of the cross. The entire church building are made of a CROSS.
View from the cross section towards main entrance
Standing at the cross section, which is about center of the building looking towards the main entrance.
View from the cross section towards altar
Standing at the cross section, looking towards the altar. Now it all make sense, Jesus statue is there.
The altar
Behind the altar wall, the back of the church has a series of stain glass imported from Paris. During day time when sun shine through, these stain glass produced marvelous messages.
These are some of the oldest wood can find
These are some of the oldest wood chair we can find in Kuala Lumpur. No they're not as old as the church, the modern building was established in 1954, hence these chairs could be made around that year.
Candle rack has been regularly cleaned
I've been to several churches around Kuala Lumpur, this church's candle rack is rather clean. I believe they have someone clean those wax on a regular basis.
The archbishop is here
This is the part that make the whole thing mysterious. Most churches has burial place for their prominent Catholics. I don't know about others, whenver I walk through this plague(shall I call it tombstone?), I would literally walk beside it.
