Today I am going to share another beautiful beach resort in my home country, Philippines. I highly recommend this paradise if your visiting the durian capital of the country.
Secdea Beach Resort is a 56 hectares land area located at San Isidro Babak, Samal Island, Davao, Philippines. Hubby and I went here to spend my birthday few years ago.

There are several activities to do in Secdea such as touring around the resort using their golf car, cycling, walking through the mangrove pathways and man made falls, wall climbing, hiking going up to the view point, volley ball, basket ball and tennis (no boring moments indeed!).
In terms of beach activities, snorkeling, Banana boat ride, Kayaking and Jet ski rides are also available.
Secdea offers Day Tour with free buffet lunch, infinity pool usage, free wifi access and white sand beach swimming. There is also different overnight room accommodations to choose from. Checkout Samal Guide website or Secdea Facebook for their updated rates.
How To Get There:
Take a boat ride for 20 to 25 minutes from Sasa Wharf to Babak Wharf of Samal Island for only 10 php. After arriving in Samal Wharf, take a ”habal-habal" (single motorcycle) or side car to bring you to the Resort (30-35 minutes) for 100 php per person.
Note: riding the habal-habal is a bit hassle and bumpy but it's worth the ride :D. You can also book Secdea's private van transport (1000 php per way).
Upon arrival, you will be asked by the guard if you have booked earlier or made a reservation through their website then a staff will take you to the reception area of the resort for day tour or overnight checked in while riding in a golf car.
The staff are also accommodating. The food is also delicious and served hot.
Meet Renty, he’s a gentle adorable lab and his pug mate named Chester (the resort dogs).
Visitors can see them wandering around the resort hanging out with the fishes in the pond or sometimes wagging their tail and mouth open, not to bite you but to welcome you! :D
Secdea has (now) more swimming pools and Inflatable Water Park, the first in Davao.
I really enjoyed the night swimming because there was no other guest in the pool. I feel like we own the infinity pool for a night. It was indeed a relaxing birthday getaway!
The resort is a perfect place for relaxing and beach activities. It was indeed a beautiful weekend getaway and we will definitely would love to go back here one day.
