( The real FAKENEWS is the MSM and partly the alternative media )
STEEMIT is the new "TRUE MEDIA" that replaces both "ALTERNATIVE MEDIA" and MSM (Main Stream Media) !
For many years I have shyed away from MSM (Main Streem Media). After 3-4 months on Steemit, I found myself using Steemit as my main source of news and information. This is new! For years I have been on internet forums, like the resent years (Bitcointalk.org).
Being on these forums is a lot of work, since you have to “sort the information yourself”, reading a lot of non-sense and looking for that one small piece of “gold” in the forum.
With Steemit it is different, since the curators are doing that job of sorting the information. I just have to look for a high payout and that combined with a title that is interesting to me, then there is a bigger chance that post hold some valuable information.
Futhermore Steemit holds often videos, again the same principal goes: if the post have a high reward payout and have an interesting title, there is a big chance that post hold valuable information for me.
Conclusion: STEEMIT is the new “ALTERNATIVE MEDIA” ! That make the MSM (Main Stream Media) and the old “ALTERNATIVE MEDIA” irrelevant. For-instance I was listening to Alex Jones, from Infowars (alternative media on the internet), the other day, he didn't even mention STEEMIT while talking about censorship of the internet (STEEM CANNOT BE CENSORED) and FAKENEWS. This shows that there are now 3 categories of news media (in prioritized order!):
- STEEMIT and other APPs using the STEEM blockchain
- Old “ALTERNATIVE MEDIA”, like Infowars and others on youtube.
- MSM (Main Stream Media), like TV news and other TV programs.
