Fancy seeing you here on this lovely Food Fight Friday. How has your week been? Good, glad to hear that. How about the weather? Naaa... who cares about the dang weather! We have bellies to fill and food comas to enjoy. Wait... is a food coma really that enjoyable?? I guess once you pass out from a pure food overload you can't really feel much. Right?! One thing is for certain, you get some good ZZZZ's in and you could catch up on some sleep. Oh my... I just had a million dollar idea... anyways...
With temps well below freezing I was craving something warm for breakfast. Then I remembered inside a convenience store is a little sub shop that opened up a little over a year ago in Burbank, Washington. So, it just so happened that I was lazy and didn’t make a lunch. I was at the mercy of whatever type of food was close by. I have eaten here a couple times prior and I was pretty satisfied with the sandwiches they created. Oh, the name? You want to know the name. My bad...
Firehouse Subs

I didn’t take any photos of the menu or the restaurant itself. That is how fast they are when you catch them before the lunch time rush. I arrived at 11:30 and my sandwich was ready before I could fill up my drink and a take a couple sips. Let alone remember snap a couple photos of the place. So I hope this works and I can find a couple photos of Firehouse Subs in Burbank, WA online. I mean what can’t you find online these days??

Look at that I found one. It is even the Firehouse Subs located in Burbank just off of highway 12 in Washington state. Take the highway 124 exit just before the Bridge that crosses the Snake River and make your way through the Roundabouts on Fifth Ave. Then on your left is the new Burbank business park and that is where you will find Firehouse Subs.

As I mentioned before I have eaten here a couple times and I wasn’t disappointed. My inner carnivore always wants to complain that sub shops never put enough meat on their sandwiches. Tony’s Sub Shop in Walla Walla is the only expemption I have ran across so far. They pile it on!!! Each time I have been here I tried a different sandwich. Look at that I even found a picture of their menu... dang I’m good.

It may be a little tough to read so I found out that they have their complete menu for each location online. You can even place your order online and it will be ready for a quick pickup and go. Plus, they have enough seating inside to accommodate approx 20 people. So swing in and order, order online and pickup, or stop by pull up a chair and stuff your face!! They really do have a good variety of things on their Menu. So ya if you want to take a look at what Firehouse Subs dishes out on a daily basis check out the Menu. Click the Menu to read through their Menu. I tend to just look straight at the specialty hot sandwiches. I am a sucker for melty cheese, meat and a few crunchy veggies. Mostly just make sure to pile on that meat.

&
Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket
Both were very tasty and quite messy, so make sure you grab a handful of extra napkins. Possibly just stop at a store prior to going to Firehouse Subs and grab a roll of paper towels. Their sandwiches aren’t dry by any means. I recommend attacking these sandwiches once they are in your hungry little hands. All or nothin’
Pastrami Rueben
And take it back to one of our service centers to get warm and enjoy this tasty looking sandwich
Now I don’t want to get all technical but this is actually called a Rachel. I learned this the last time I posted about the Reuben Sandwich. A Rachel is when they use pastrami as the meat instead of corn beef.

Now what I liked about the Firehouse version of this sandwich was they added a nice layer of coleslaw to add a pleasant crunch to the tender thin sliced pastrami. Yes, I ordered the foot long of course. Did you expect anything less?

After the first couple bites I knew this one was gonna curb my hunger. They say they can satisfy a Fire-Fighter sized appetite... What about a Lineman sized appetite? Well let’s keep diggin’ in and see.

Moving onto the second half of the sandwich, I knew I wasn’t going to have any problem chowing this thing down. I was contemplating adding a layer of bbq chips on it but I was too busy stuffing my face to stop. I did throw a few down hatch in between bites of the sandwich.

A cool thing about Firehouse Subs is a portion of all purchases goes towards providing lifesaving equipment to first responders. Plus you can round up the total amount of your order and donate that as well. Plus you don’t end up with a bunch of change in your pocket.

Now I am not a big “Super Burn your beep hot sauce” but they have a whole line of them on the counter for those that do. I know better and I just look the other way.

Firehouse Subs is a great choice in my book for a fast tasty belly filling sandwich. If you have one in your local area, head over and give it a try. Road trip, this would be a great place to stop while on a road trip. Order ahead of time, swing in and the sandwich is ready. That way you can still make good time on your trip.

That is a big 10-4 there Ol’ buddy
By the way, Yes it does Satisfy a Lineman Sized Appetite
