"Q" Chapter 39

The Western Hemisphere

.......................................................................................................................................................................................
Couldn’t catch a break.
It suffered a one-two punch

The First PUNCH was 12,000 or so years ago during the quaternary extinction when ever animal larger than man....died.

The Second PUNCH was a few hundred years ago when there was a devastating pandemic the likes of which has never been seen before or since. Almost all of the humans .....died.

Beginning approximately the same time that Columbus ‘discovered’ the new world if not a few years earlier, catastrophic wave after cataclysmic wave of disease swept the South and North American continents. In less than 200 years eighty to ninety percent of the millions of people who had lived prosperous lives...had died.

The Europeans found mostly empty continents awaiting them. The few indigenous inhabitants were either in ill health, still reeling from the effects of the plagues, or the pitiful few descendants of those survivors. The magnificent civilizations that had lasted for thousands of years...had died.
