A good morning makes a good day! Definitely, if you get green smoothie and moringa involved. I think I have mentioned this a million times but ever since we have a tree I have been addicted to these super leaves. Not only are the super delicious they contain decent amounts of protein and all the essential vitamins and minerals our body needs.
And they give you a full feeling and taste great. You can best compare it with spinach but way better if you ask me.
If you live in a mild climate with no frost I would highly recommend planting a moringa tree. They grow fast and can be harvested daily after only a few months of growing.
And they are not only yum in green morning drinks, but you can also add the leaves to soups, stews, veggie burger, or any dish you normally add spinach or other leafy greens.
But enough about moringa, let's start blending!
FRESH MORINGA LEAF SMOOTHIE WITH A TROPICAL TWIST
INGREDIENTS (SERVES 2)
2 cups fresh moringa leaves
2 cups water
1 cup pineapple
1 cup mango
2-3 passion fruit
2 banana
1-2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
DIRECTIONS
- Blend water and moringa until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If using a high-speed blender you can throw everything in at once. Add more water if the smoothie is to thick for you.
- Optional: Top with goji berries, hemp hearts oats, or other superfoods/toppings you like.
