The Merit Of Your Own Pace

Now that we are are here, house-sitting a beautiful homestead I don't only feel the merit of learning to become completely self-sufficent in skill but also how essential this own choosing of pace is to feel free and liberated as a human being. Self-directing our own lives.

When we were still living side by side with the owner of this place it was stressful. Don't get me wrong, he is a lovely guy and means really well but there is this odd sense of obligation to him even when he tried to give us all the space we need. So that we always felt we had to look busy somehow.

Now that this place is ours for the next months we feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders. If we don't want to do the dishes today we don't. If we don't fell a tree today we don't. And yet everything is accomplished, but with a sense of purpose and direction because we choose our own pacing and there is no problem that arises from it.

It's like an aura of serenity has set in because tasks can be tackled in any way imaginable. This sense of being able to pace our own day like we prefer is just priceless, maybe because it also includes choosing our own methodology.

Chunking, and doing tasks on the side for a few moments can clean up the entire kitchen over the course of a day without any extra effort, and taking up a task the moment I feel like doing it just blasts through all the stagnancy that not long ago has surrounded these tasks for the day ahead.

The sense of freedom in your life comes from tackling the chores and the to-do's ahead of you in your own way. Maybe that's why people in an office job with a boss generally feel so unfulfilled. Not because of the work itself, but because of their not being allowed to choose how to proceed at their own pace. Becoming a kog in a machine directed by someone other than ourselves - regardless how sensible and useful that machine is - just robs human beings of their sense of purpose and eventually: their sense of accomplishment. Freedom and responsibility go hand in hand and whenever we give away responsibility to someone else for fear of security, we rob ourselves of fulfillment.

True freedom is not only choosing what to do, but when to do it and how. And seeing that everything gets accomplished regardless of external authority is just a blessing to witness and experience.

I send gratitude into the cosmos for experiencing a time in my life where I feel at the helm and can direct my day as I see fit. Getting ever and ever closer to the original vision for human life on Earth for sure. May all who are on their pah to true freedom get there!

After centuries of following orders - probably millenia - finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I can feel it, it's here! <3
