The losers, the nobodies.
The people who had to work in this big open space.
He was getting his own space. He was getting an office to himself. His heart swelled with pride as they approached JP's office.
The Boss.
It was well know the nearer your office was to JP the more important you were. Lisa, the office manager, looked over her shoulder and gave him a smile. He smiled back. He was going somewhere. At last!

Finally Lisa stopped next to a door. It was unmarked. She opened it and stepped back. Gesturing for him to enter.
"Your new office," she said, pointing inside at what looked very much like a broom cupboard.
