You know for city folks like us, even a stay in a hotel can be a great staycation for the family. But still, it is something we rarely do until our most recent trip to Penang Island, an island at the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia.
I made this trip with my family staying at 2 different hotels in Sg Petani and Penang island. The first hotel was a budget hotel which is modern looking, darker colours themed with a common pantry area. I like that part of sharing space where my family who didn't share room with me could gather. It also has many books for reading. However the bed was a bit too small for the 3 of us and I had backaches sleeping on it after 2 days.
As for the 2nd hotel, it is rather an old hotel but everything was fine. I love the space, the view and especially the bed. It was a king bed, same as what we have at home and I woke up everyday rather early at 7am rather refreshed and could spend some alone time enjoying the view at the balcony. Sitting at the living area most of the time with @littledrummerboy watching some TV had been one of our activities that we did. The best part of it all is the beach is right behind the hotel! As much we enjoyed the hotel stay, there is no place like home! When @littledrummerboy first checked in, he kept saying he wanted to go home. But by the time we were bidding goodbyes and checking out, he said he wanted to stay back at the hotel and refused to go home. Hahaha!
I am grateful for the 2nd hotel stay a lot as it was a complimentary stay from a friend who had vouchers for this particular hotel. He generously handed them over to us because we are family friends. Thank you so very much!
