My favourite memory of chips would be all the childhood holidays to The Entrance, on the NSW central coast. We used to get a big pack of hot chips and head down to the waterfront parks and sit there eating these hot chips.
The seagulls would all swarm around, and the biggest mistake you could make was to throw them some. Before you knew it, you would have hundreds of them swarming around you, fighting and squawking over the chips you throw out to them.
I used to always try and see which gull wasn't getting any, the runt of the flock if you will, and work out a way to make sure it got a chip. Trying to get a chip to that one, with hundreds around wasn't easy, and usually we would end up running out of chips.
Those holidays were awesome, every Christmas and Easter, we would head of up the coast, away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney for a week of beach-side relaxation. I haven't been to the Entrance for so many years, I wonder what it is like now??
