For We-Write...I Write...You Write?!

The Start of the Story

“So, just give me the basics,” she barked at him.

“I…uh…I…”

“Man up soldier!” she yelled at his face. A little spittle flew between her yellowed teeth along with a piece of broccoli, both landing firmly on his glasses.

His fevered brain couldn’t make heads or tails of what he’d just seen, and he certainly couldn’t wrap his head around why she called him soldier. They were both tourists visiting the Eiffel Tower on the same day. He had never met this gigantic woman before in his life. He regretted being the only English speaking person here.

He swiped his glasses off with the cuff of his sleeve, leaving streaks behind.

“Well, what do you think it was? What was that big boom just now!?”

“It looked--” he began not wanting to believe his own eyes. But as he tried to finish his sentence, a large shadow covered the clear blue sky. They both turned to look towards the heavens. His knees trembled as his worst fears were coming to life.

====== My Part======

He turned toward the entrance of the tunnel and bolted. The woman screamed behind him. He dared not turn around to see the beast's fangs. He hops off a car door, leaps to the left off of a rock, and does a wall run to cover the bridges gap.

He can feel the heat of the beast as it turns his gaze on him, the running meat bag. Five more steps and up the ladder races through his mind. One, two, three, four, f... he is tripped up by a pole sticking straight up from the ground. He face plants in the dirt, busting teeth as he slides to a violent halt.

He claws his way forward, but not fast enough. The creature is on top of him. He doesn't have to turn around to feel the intense heat the creature is giving off.

If only he had listened to his mother when she told him that today was not a good day to go out, ...
