Here's my free write for the weekend,using the prompt 'church'.
I was walking towards my hostel and I saw this lady. She asked if I stayed in the hostel and I said yes. She wanted to know how good the hostel was. (Seems like she's planning on an accommodation here.)
How's the hostel, she asked.
Hmm.. The electricity here is really really bad, I started.
Oh and recently a neighbour saw a snake in her toilet. It was a cobra. I told her.
She stared at me in shock.
She turned away and left.
She didn't say thanks, I guess she wasn't expecting that.
The hostel belongs to a church. Now I think I should have mentioned the fact that the rooms are huge and well ventilated. And maybe not mention the Snake.
But,it's a sin to lie. Even the church preaches that. I think I did the right thing after all.
Or maybe I did that to get back at the man in charge of the hostel. We are not on good terms.
