This is the freewrite challenge. I am using @mariannewest’s #freewrite prompt to write this piece (@mariannewest/day-497-5-minute-freewrite-friday-prompt-in-the-club-1551405316)
Today’s prompt is:
in the club
I felt the music pound my body as I walked into the club. The place wasn't packed, not yet, but there were enough people that the place didn't feel like an empty warehouse. And enough people that I wouldn't be noticed. I weaved my way up to the bar. Standing next to this tall blond haired guy who was fiddling with a wallet I signaled to the barman and asked for a bottle of water.
"I was next," Tall Blond said. I gave the barman a note, took the water and turned and looked up at the guy.
Boy, he was tall.
"Well, you are now," I said, waving away the barman's offer of change. I started to walk away but felt a hand clamp itself on my shoulder.
"You ain't going nowhere," Tall Blond said.
"Leave him Gaz," I heard a voice say. I looked around Tall Blond to find an attractive looking brunette, considerably shorter than Tall Blond. I smiled at her.
"Good evening," I said.
