Yay! It’s the weekend!!! So that can really only mean ONE THING!!

It’s time for the #weekendfreewrite!

Each week @mariannewest gives three #freewrite prompts and you have to write for five minutes using each prompt - but no cheating and looking at the next prompt UNTIL you have finished with the first one!

"There is no doubt that this unquestionable order will come to pass," Grint said, his liver spotted hands clenched into fists. "But I will have no part of it!"

Roberts laughed and turned his back on the old man. "Then you have signed your own death warrant you silly old fool."

Grint took a step forward and Roberts wheeled around grabbing him with both hands.

"You think that you will achieve anything?" he said. "With this little show of insubordination?" he laughed and pushed Grint backwards. The old man staggered but did not fall, grasping hold of the desk he stood by.

"You have won this particular battle, Roberts. But you can not win the war."

Roberts laughed again. He pulled a blade from his waistband. "But I can." He plunged the knife into the old man's neck. Blood sprayed into the air and Grint fell to the floor.

"December in Dublin is remarkably high spirited!"

Roberts jumped at the sound of the woman's voice. He turned, the knife clenched in his fist. Selena leaned against the door frame, a smile on her lips and a knife in her hand.

"What are you talking about?" Roberts said. "It's January, and I have no idea what this Dublin is."

Selena laughed and slipped the knife into her waistband. She walked towards Roberts, swinging her hips in a way he supposed was an attempt to be sexy. He thought perhaps it might have been, if he wasn't holding a murder weapon standing over a dead body.

"I read it in a book," she said, her smile wide. "I'll lend it to you. It's very good."

Roberts scowled. "I have no time for book reviews, woman. Help me get rid of this body. Before the others come."

Selena stopped walking and suddenly the knife was in her hands again.

"Ah," Roberts said, watching the knife glint in the light of the evening sun, that was now shining through the window.

He had two options that he could see, neither of them appealed to him.

Firstly, he could fight Selena. He would lose, of course and she would frame him as the bad guy. Stabbing a colleague in the neck aside, Roberts did not think of himself as a bad guy.

Secondly he could plead with her. She would pretend to consider it, then kill him and frame him as the bad guy.

Both of these options had elements that Roberts did not like.

He decided instead to run. Unfortunately he chose to run to the right, forgetting about the loose floorboard that he had been meaning to report to Maintenance for weeks now but never seemed to have the time. The floor shifted and then he found himself sprawling on it, the bloody knife skittering across the wood and hitting the wall.

"Shit," he said.

Selena smiled and came towards him, slowly. "I'll make it as quick as I can," she said sweetly.
