SteemHeroes is a new, FREE TO JOIN project exclusively on Steemit which intends to create a unique comic book universe that exists entirely within Steemit! Not only will we build a fun fictional world that's exclusive to Steemit, but by creating and submitting some characters you can earn direct rewards and bonus curation on all of your posts!

The three core components of SteemHeroes are

1.) User-created character profiles

Any Steem user can submit up to two characters to SteemHeroes.

2.) Regular ‘episodes’ that advance the story

The SteemHeroes story builds and grows as more characters enter the world.

3.) Fights between heroes and villains

Heroes and villains are pitted against each other.

So how do fights work?

Characters will be drawn from the pools of heroes and villains and pitted against each other in duels. Once the fight is announced, anyone can vote on who they think would win. Your voting weight is based on the value of your vote (with a formula to balance things about between plankton and whales). Whoever scores the highest wins the fight!

Ok great, but why should I care?

Fighting earns you three benefits:

1.) You share in the SBD generated by the fight

The winner gets paid 75% of the SBD reward, while the loser doesn’t walk away empty-handed and still receives the remaining 25% of the SBD.

2.) Your account will benefit from the SteemHeroes curation trail

All of your posts on Steemit will receive upvotes from SteemHeroes and members of our curation trail!

3.) You’ll earn XP

XP is the experience used to level up your characters. The XP reward is split based on the voting scores from the fight. A fight where the hero received 45% of the votes while the villain won with 55% would result in the XP reward pool being split 45%/55%.

4.) Leveling up

When you level up, you gain prestige and power within SteemHeroes. For simplicity, a level 2 character is on par with two level 1s so in the future some 2 vs. 1 or even bigger brawls will be possible!

How do I participate?

Simple! Just come up with an idea for a character and fill in the blanks on the character creation template. Get those creative juices flowing and create a character, give them some abilities and think up a backstory and personality for them. SteemHeroes will take it from there and integrate them into the world where they'll engage in fights and interact with characters other Steemians have created!

We’re nearing the end of our beta phase, so once we have a full roster of 5 characters on each side, SteemHeroes will officially begin!
