Introduction

If someone saw another person playing a bloody/gory game they might wonder "Why do they play such violent game?". Well today I will try, and explain why I play such games.

My History

The first game that I ever played that was considered truly violent was Mortal Kombat. I believe I was around five or six when I first played a MK(Mortal Kombat) game. But what really got me into these types of games was Grand Theft Auto 3, which I just turned seven when I played it. Ever since then I have enjoyed these kinds of games.

My Reasons

The way I see it is that if a game has a 18+ rating then that means that the developers nearly have complete creative freedom over the game. Me personally if there is a game with no coherent plot, and just has mindless killing then I will normally not play it. I play these games for there plots, and the game's creative mechanics. I also love it when a game tries to capture the atmosphere of a certain time period throughout our history. With a 18+ rating the developers do not have to hold back, and they are able to make the game anyway they see fit. One example of this is the recently released Mafia 3, where developers of the game were able to capture a re-imagined 1968 New Orleans in great detail. Also from these kinds of games I might learn something new. They also allow me to be in other person's position as well

Next up I will write about how these kinds of games shaped me as a person. Also while playing Mafia 3 I came across a song that I never heard of before, and it is titled Eve of Destruction. It was written by P.F Sloan, and was recorded by Barry McGuire in 1965. Even though this song was released fifty one years ago it still has relevance today. On account of all stuff that is still going on today, and also tomorrow being Election Day in the U.S we might truly be on the eve of destruction.
