I've waited for months.
Ever since @sagescrub announced their plan over summer to release a website where folks can buy seeds with steem/SBD, I was hooked.
I saved.
And I saved.
And I saved.
And I spent some.
And I saved.
This week, when they launched their initiative over at https://homesteaderscoop.com and @homesteaderscoop, I initiated my transfer from savings. I've been waiting a long time to buy seeds from them, not knowing what they'd be offering. The news that they'd be supporting other vendors as well just added more sweetness to the news.
I've spent the last couple days perusing the site that @sagescrub built, looking at all the goods offered while I waited for my withdrawal. I've got to say, I'm blown away by the ease of use. I was honestly expecting a new, slightly buggy site. Nah. Smooth. Clean. Simple. Elegant.
The site can be viewed by vendor, by category, or with all the products compiled. As of right now, there are seven vendors:
- @sagescrub (as two vendors: Seeds of Abundance and The Gentle Soul) selling seeds and hand dyed textiles
- @mountainjewel currently selling medicinal tinctures and blackberry cuttings
- @makinstuff selling tumeric and recycled bottle emergency candles as The Tinker Tribe
- @professorbromide selling raw honey with the comb
- @walkerland selling an eBook that tells all about chickens on the homestead
- @idyllwild selling some absolutely stunning flower wreaths
A wonderful assortment of products, considering they've not collectively been in business a week.
So, I decided on the items I'd buy today and went to checkout. Again, not knowing what to expect. I'd never bought anything on a site dedicated to crypto sales. I thought I'd be given a code and told to send the funds to the respective vendors through my steem wallet. Again, no. Literally the most streamlined payment I've ever made for an online purchase. Input shipping information, then log in with SteemConnect, and done. The transaction was made automatically with all applicable information input. All I did was click "okay."
I couldn't be more happy with the experience.
What did I buy? Well, today is all seeds from @sagescrub and a tincture from @mountainjewel. Gonna try some of that #naturalmedicine that everyone's been talking about.
The tincture is for the wife, who's been struggling with a bit of extra anxiety lately. Hoping it'll help her out. The seeds will be tried out in our food forest. I intend to eventually buy a little bit of everything, but steem earnings are down a bit, so it'll be a while before I order again. But I will be ordering more.
I can't wait for my order to arrive, and you bet I'll be making a post about it all! Til then, I really encourage supporting these vendors. This is exactly the kind of innovation that the crypto community is needing as a whole. Easy, smooth experiences and relevant physical goods. This site highlights all the simplicity and efficiency that we've been wanting and hearing about in the cryptoverse and, perhaps even better, it does it in a way that is supporting sustainable producers. I can't get enough of it.
Y'all upvote so I can have more SBD to spend, and resteem so more people can learn about it!
Stay relevant
Nate

P.S. I think all of those vendors are members of the Global Homesteading Collective discord channel, where we're always welcoming more homesteaders and everyone is super helpful. Swing on by!
