Golos, the Russian only alternative of Steemit, has started opened their token crowdsale earlier today, so anyone interested in getting Golos tokens can already invest some Bitcoins by participating in their crowdsale. The crowdsale of Golos tokens will run for 30 days starting today and the first 15 days there is a 25% bonus, after that it will drop to 20% and so on. According to the official Golos website there are already over 28 BTC collected in the crowdsale for over 4 hours since the start, so not a bad initial result for sure...
In order to participate in the Golos Crowdsale you need to have an account, either one that was transferred from Steemit (the same username and private key) if you have an older registration on Steemit or a new account that you need to register now. Once you confirm and agree to the terms of the crowdsale in your account you will be generated a unique Bitcoin address where you need to send any BTC that you want to enter in the Golos Crowdsale. There is a 2D barcode that you can also scan with your smartphone for easier access if you are using a mobile BTC wallet for payments.
I already have an account transferred from Steemit to Golos - https://golos.io/@cryptos, and I have made a couple of posts there as well. With my Russian not that good to make me confident enough to actively post content there I will not be very active on Golos, but that does not mean I will not be supporting the project. I have spent ~0.10 BTC to participate in the crowdsale and to support the Golos project... I will also accept any donation of minimum 0.001 BTC sent directly to this BTC address 17pLKv1oSgNw63xjz93qrK15eMoU72hwd4 that will go towards the Golos Crowdsale as well.
What I'm not too happy with however is that there is currently absolutely nothing saying that you have sent any amount of Bitcoins for the purchase of tokens on the page where your funding address for the crowdsale is. Not when you initiate the transfer, not when the first confirmation goes, not when all 6 confirmations on the blockchain are over. It would be nice to have some sign that everything is fine and that the amount you have sent is received and counted towards your purchase of tokens in the crowdsale!
Seems like my concerns have been addressed and now the Crowdsale page shows the transactions it has successfully recieved for the Crowdsale as well as an estimate on the amount of Golos tokens that you might get calculated at the moment (not the final number).
Do note that Golos is intended for Russian speaking users, though posting content on English or other languages is also possible and some people actually do post in other languages, but this might not get you that much attention and votes as content posted in Russian...
The website interface is in Russian by default, though there are options to change it into English or Ukrainian. To do so just go to the tab Настройки in your profile and from the first dropdown menu labeled Выберите язык choose English and the interface should get translated in English language. Even with the interface in Russian language you might still be able to easily use it as it is pretty much the same, though not exactly like the interface of Steemit that you are probably already used to. You can also choose to use different currency than the default RUB one, that is being done from the second dropdown menu where you have multiple options including USD and EUR as options.
