What I’m Grateful For Today: The Power Of Visualization

Good evening friends! Happy "almost Friday day"! :)

Today I am grateful for the power of visualization!

I found out about visualization when I first heard about the "Law of attraction". I was in high-school and it was something new and interesting for me back then. So after watching a movie called "Secret", I decided to write down what I want to attract in my life. And a lot of stuff from the list actually happened!

Since then I was using the Law of attraction practices on and off but only in the last couple of years I think I really got into feeling it. I was always more focused on affirmations but only recently I realized something that was the main reason why I decided to share this post.

This year I spent one month in Thailand and I also traveled to Croatia and Bosnia for 10 days. And it took me few months after those trips to realize how similar my pinboard pictures were to the places I visited. I have this pinboard with these same pictures for a few years now (I seriously need to update it!) and I look at it every day but somehow I still missed to realize the similarity.

On the left there is a random picture from the magazine and on the right is a picture from my visit to Makarska, Croatia, taken while parasailing.

Here on the left is one more magazine picture that, everytime I looked at it, it represented not only a beautiful destination but also a romance (I was single back then), and on the right is a picture from Thailand that looks pretty similar and I was there with someone very important to me :)

So if you're interested in visualization, I have 3 tips for you:

1. Be specific and clear on your vision

Take some time and think about what you really want in life, what your goals and dreams are. Make sure they are true to yourself and it's something your heart truly wants. You can focus on a few life areas such as family/relationships, career, health, travel... I always say this but I think that writing things down is the best way to do this.

2. Create a vision board

My vision board is not only filled with my dream pictures, I also have some pictures I took or pictures of myself. So instead of choosing pictures of super toned, super hot girls from magazines as a fitness inspiration, I decided to put I picture of myself when I was in the best shape of my life. And no, I don't look nothing like those girls from magazines, but at the end of the day, I am trying to be the best version of myself, not some model or actress.
Also very important thing when choosing pictures is to _only choose pictures that make you feel good, that you find motivating and inspiring. If you look at a certain picture and you feel jealousy, anxiety, low self esteem or any kind of negative emotion - skip that picture.

3. Practice visualization

Now that you have a clear vision and your pretty vision board, here comes the most important part - practicing visualization. Take some time in the morning or evening (or both if you prefer), look at your vision board and visualize upon every picture. +Imagine yourself as if everything that one picture represents, you already have, right here, right now._
Let's take an example and say you want to write a book, you put a picture that represent that dream and as you're looking at it think about what kind of book you want to write - is it a book for children, a novel... Do you want to publish it as an e-book or a classic, paper book? How do you feel when you first published the book? How does your book makes other people feel while they are reading it? Think about the compliments you want to get about your book. Get into as many details as you possibly can and make sure you get into that moment as it's already happening and feel it.

To some of you this might sound weird or silly but I really encourage you to try it out! I would love to hear your opinion about this subject so feel free to leave me a comment.
