Given the explosive growth in accounts, posting and commenting, we need high quality, deep curation more than ever. Deep curation is an important part of what ensures the daily reward pool is allocated as fairly as possible and in a way that continues to incentivise the growth in production of quality material. New Steemians must accept that there may be a lag where they are producing quality material that doesn't not get the notice and reward it deserves but it benefits all Steemians if we ensure that as many quity posts and Steemians are recognised as soon as possible. Steem is valuable for many reasons already but the greater the network, the greater the value because the network effect compounds the value.
Deep curation is a highly specialised skill and there are only so many Steemians who have the temperament, patience, fortitude , dedication, attention to detail, experience, knowledge and time to do the job. When Steemit has millions of accounts and millions of posts to deal with per day, we will need an army of talented super curators.
How can we incentivise the deep curators who need to vote and be rewarded more times a day but without endangering the system by enabling everyone to do the same?
Solution - special roles and delegated Steem power with reward splitting
I don't know if this is technically supported within the software right now but we could have special roles.
If you have the skill and reputation to be a super curator, you are able to vote many more times a day than all other Steemians with you power being damaged at a lower rate. In effect all Steemians would be agreeing that certain Steemians have the power to allocate more of the reward pool than the rest of us and can make additional curation rewards for their efforts. Remember, this is a difficult job that increase the value of Steem for everyone.
Where does the Steem power come from? I think the power should come only from the Steemit account via delegation and the reward split toggles to a community agreed level.
The excess which would return to the Steemit account can then be spent...as it is widely purported to be being spent....on growing Steem for everyone.
Voting guilds have tried to do a similar job with great success at times but there have been difficulties that prevent them from scaling up.
There may well be other special roles that we want to create in the future.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Other Steemians have been posting about this topic, please take the time to have a look at a post by @liberosist too;
Happy Steeming
