Your Bones - Strengthen

With Eggshells

In life our old bones go through a lot and weaken over time. From out teeth to our vertebrae they loose strength and can become brittle. But there are several things you can do to maintain them to a higher degree... with eggshells as they have unique beneficial medicinal properties!

First lets look at bone tissue, it is composed of calcium and actually, human bones and teeth are very similar to the composition of an eggshell. One significant benefits of eggshells is that the calcium contained in the shell (93 %), aids the bone marrow in fulfilling its hematopoietic function better. Because of this, eggshells contain the perfect amount of the ideal substances for healing cavities (calcium and 27 other elements including minerals like; magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sodium, potassium, iron, sulfur, aluminum, etc.) which remineralizes teeth and bone.

Additionally the protein of a shell is composed of essential amino acids as methionine, cysteine, lysine, isoleucine and with proper preparation eggshells are the most balanced natural means to obtain calcium. Eggshells are also beneficial for small children in the formation of their bone tissue, (which requires an uninterrupted flow of calcium) and even babies to prevent rickets and anemia, (which usually develops in parallel with rickets).

Eggshell’s promote activation of blood in the bone tissue showing accelerated healing when using the shell for treating such orthopedic diseases as congenital dislocation of a hip or osteoporosis (softening of the bones).

Preparation for use:

To use eggshells for medicinal purposes, you need to use organic eggs in order to avoid any chemicals or antibiotics. Boil eggshells for 5 minutes for about 5 minutes to kill any pathogens that may be on them, then, air dry the shells overnight, the next day bake them at 200 degrees on a cookie sheet to insure all moisture is removed, then grind the shells into a powder. Take a 1/2 teaspoon a day mixing it in with food, drinks (especially known for removing the bitterness from coffee. Note also that Vitamin D greatly aids calcium absorption in your body, so make sure to get enough sunlight or eat organ meats such as liver.

Athlete Benefits:

OK, how is this beneficial to an Athlete as you endure all types of concussive jolts to your body, from running to football, as your body jars it vibrates down to the bone. Consuming extra calcium (natural source) can give you stronger and more resilient bones to resist bruising or other stress related issues, (although proper training should avoid this as well) and recuperation times will be shortened.

There are many more benefits from calcium, and we should steer clear of the mass produce calcium. You can get plenty of calcium by eating these calcium-rich foods:

  • Cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Milk
  • Sardines
  • Leafy greens (spinach, kale, broccoli rabe, Etc.)

So if you worry about fragile bones, osteoporosis or just general bone health, skip the pills, save your money–and protect your heart–by eating a calcium-rich diet instead and if you need to supplement, consider nature again.

So don't throw out those egg shells, recycle them to recyle your bones.
