A while back we discussed how the community account will be changing for @helpie here and progress has really been slow on this. One of our main focuses regarding this change is that we do not want to encourage delegation for vote. We just want to support great people.
Great is subjective, of course, and we are still working on the exact method for making decisions on this front. Our linked post shows our ideal principles, and the current method is by committee vote, in general. For example, we direct auto-vote support to various curation projects like @c-cubed.
We have a few major changes taking effect 2/25:
- There is no longer any delegation bonus what-so-ever. Delegate or auto-trail to support the community, but it comes with zero bonuses. Adjust accordingly.
- The base value for upvote is 10%, 1/day, with the understanding that we will be removing support on a case-by-case basis. This is also on a trial basis to see how the votes spread.
We realize that for some delegators who are looking to maximize their ROI, this might not be ideal, but the goal, as we've said before, is to support people who are adding value to the platform, and not just those that have enough SP to delegate.
We've been reaching out in direct messagers to some delegators, but of course encourage anyone who may have questions or concerns to reach out to us on discord. We ask however, patience while we are making this transition.
So, what exactly is Helpie?
Helpie is an invite only community. If you would like to be considered as a Helpie "minnow in training," please consider joining PALnet/MSP and participating in the community. We have scouts constantly looking for the right minnows to support, and they will reach out with a private invitation.
