After speaking with the producer who is mastering my album today, I was informed that he will not be able to get me the .wav master files of my tracks until Friday afternoon, about 24 hours prior to my record release party on July 7th. Since the publishing process takes three to four days, this means my album will not be released in time for my release party. This is the second time I have had to push the release date back, but I will not be able to change the date of the party this time.
This means I cannot direct people to my music that they could have otherwise accessed instantly if they wanted to, and I cannot hand out flash drives with my album uploaded to them at the party. I can still hand out business cards with links to sites that will have my album available on them to download, however I will have to sacrifice some promotion, since some people will likely forget/loose the cards in the few days it takes for the publishing to finalize.
Never the less, the show must go on, as they say, and I will be well prepared for my set on Saturday night. I should still be able to stream the entire event on Dlive also, since the live versions of my tracks being online should not affect the copyright checks the publication agencies are performing simultaneously. If mp3 or wav versions of my tracks were uploaded online by someone I gave a flash drive to at the party however, that will affect the copyright checks. I would hate to get a copyright infringement notice by infringing on myself.
After the album is published, CD Baby's distribution services will make my album available on all major audio streaming/downloading platforms like iTunes and Spotify, among many others. With that being said, only ten out of the twelve tracks on my album will be available on those major platforms, and they will make you pay for an otherwise FREE album, and none of the money you give them goes to me.
To get the FULL VERSION FOR FREE with both bonus promo tracks, "Smoke A Big Blunt" - DJ Quik tribute, and "Breaking Down the Walls" - Wu-Tang Clan tribute, you must download from either Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Dsound, or directly from my website, elamentalemcee.com, when it is up and running. The album and its respective bonus tracks are all free for download, do not waste you money getting if from iTunes or Spotify. Downloading it from Bandcamp will give you the option to send me a donation directly, and you can of course always reach out if you want to donate crypto, I will get wallet QR code images uploaded here soon.
Funfetti has already completed the preliminary sketch of my album art design, and when he gets back to me with a photo I will share it here. The one good thing about having the album pushed back again is that he should be finished painting his design in time to include it as the official album art, so I can send it in with the publication info on Friday when I receive the masters.
If Funfetti for some reason does not get me the album art before Friday, then I will use my emcee logo (one version pictured above) as the official publicized album cover art, but will likely change it to his art on all other audio download platforms, and eventually my vinyl record covers, once I receive it.
The following is the actual description that will appear with the Hex Wrecker's official publication upon release.
Authored by @elamental:
"I want to free the minds of those that have been subjugated by societies oppression, to the point of completely loosing touch with real existence. People are stuck in a plastic fake reality that they are conditioned to submit to. I want to de-program people from this and expose them to the truths of this world. Let’s wreck the hex of this planet and bless the rest that’s damaged. It is time everyone became conscious and aware of what is required from us as members of the Earth, for us to finally live in harmony with it.
Producing and publishing this album was one of the most difficult feats I have ever attempted. I am a lyricist and poet, so I have never really had an aptitude for technically minded tasks. As a result, I have met several talented producers in my long journey of creating this, that were willing to help me record and provide instrumentals, including: Jeanot Lewis-Rolland, Max Maichak, Chris “Cutter” Benson, Erin Miller, Joey Coffineau, Ryan Elder, Davey from Michigan (I forgot his last name), and 2Deep Productions, who I have been attempting to get back in contact with for quite some time.
This album will be 100% free for download on Soundcloud, Dsound, Bandcamp, and my website elamentalemcee dot com, and will also include 2 free bonus promotional tracks that is not available here with this official publication. I would have liked to include them, but since they are tribute tracks, one for Wu Tang Clan, and one for DJ Quik, and I used their instrumentals, they will be separate from the official publication of my album. I have been attempting to contact both Wu and Quik seeking publication permission to no avail. Hopefully I will hear from them eventually.
Bringing this album to life has been a long journey met with numerous obstacles and challenges along the way. For many years, I was met with criticism, doubt, thievery, financial limitations, equipment limitations, limitations on knowledge of audio production, a weak support system from people in my community, and was just generally underestimated and most people had no faith in my creativity. Only after I moved to the west coast did that change.
Since I moved to Oregon, I have been met with nothing but support from the Hip-Hop community here. From the moment I saw Ancient Sol at Monolith Festival, and met up with Erin, Talilo, and the RLM crew, I knew I was finally in a place where I could start moving towards publishing an album. Everyone from RLM Entertainment has supported me from the day we met, and I them.
I have poured my heart and soul into this album for a decade, & I am glad I found a producer that matches my passion for writing lyrics, with his passion for mixing and mastering hip-hop (Jeanot Lewis-Rolland). I am seriously blessed and grateful to be in the position to bring forth messages of truth, wisdom, and freedom to so many minds. I hope that finally releasing my first album, will be a huge stepping stone for my music, opening doors in the bigger world I am stepping into.
It is truly a privilege and honor to have been selected by the universe to hold this role as a conscious hip-hop emcee, I am answering the call. It is my goal to transform minds in a way that will benefit the Earth and humanity, and open people's inner eye to the real truths of this reality. My style is often abstract and cryptic, and my points made through puns and metaphors are meant to make people think harder and feel my music instead of just listening to it. I want to connect my listeners to the divine spirit that is within us all, and all around us, our Force of life, through my flow of rhythm.
This album is and has been a journey, and I hope to take each and every one of you on that journey when you hear it. I will be giving The Hex Wrecker away for FREE, because my music is just that, FREE. I don't want any financial obstacles getting in the way of someone feeling the music I have created. I want everyone that needs a cure for looming darkness, to have the opportunity to get it, without paying MONEY for it. Instead they will have to pay in some karmic manor that will be beneficial to all. I put enough energy in this album for this synergism to work. There is a reason it’s called The Hex Wrecker; this album is designed to kills curses.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting me on this quest. I could not have done this without the help of the many like-minded souls I have met along my path.
The ELAmental emcee logo and The Hex Wrecker album art was designed and is owned by Elamental. I also claim the rights to the stage name ELAmental.
Blessings everyone & stay tuned – into the right frequencies."
