Polish Military Pea-Soup.

Hey, after a while i would like to present you a simply recipe for a Pea-Soup.
It's very tasty and filling soup. To prepare that dish we need a lot of meat, that's why i love it.


It's traditional dish served in Polish army. It's delicious, so if you visit Poland please try it at the restaurant or if you come to Wroclaw i will prepare it for you by myself ;)

Here is a list of few components you need:

  • pork ribs,
  • bacon,
  • sausage/white sausage,
  • onions,
  • carrots,
  • celery,
  • parsley,
  • potatoes,
  • pea,
  • salt,
  • pepper,
  • bay leaf,
  • allspice,
  • garlic.

Let's start from the begining.

1. Wash ribs and put it into a huge pot filled by cold water. Put it on the oven.
When the water is boiling change power to the minimum. Add some bay leaf and allspiice. Boil for 1-1.5h. When a foam shows up just take it of by spoon. After that add all of the choped vegetables and boild it for next 0.5h.


2. Put 500g of pea into a pot filled by water and boil it until the peas become soft.

3. Put into a pan choped onions,sausage, bacon and fry it until it gets brown.


4. Take off ribs from the water add peas and boild it until peas starts to crumble.

5. Add the components from the pan to the pot. Flavour it by garlic, pepper and salt.

6. Your soup is ready, remember that this dish is better after one day because the peas need some time to absorb the water.
