It's been over a year since I last posted anything here, mainly due to just not having really that much of interest to post and a general feeling of apathy about most things on the interwebs. However, I recently fell into the world of AI art and something has ignited inside of me that I haven't felt for many years. Ive always felt like I am "an artist who cannot draw" as I have always been interested in artistic things such as photography, 3d rendering, aquascaping etc, all of which need an artists eye. However, I cant create images for shit, so the advent of AI based artwork has really piqued my interest.
Im not a massive fan of instagram and twitter and have always loved the community here, having been a member since 2017 (although with a few hiatus' in that time), but I keep coming back.
I recently installed Stable Diffusion, specifically using the Automatic1111 web UI.
For those who don't know much about AI art generation (which to be honest, I fall into this category), images are generated by entering detailed descriptions of what you want to see, called "Prompts". These prompts are run through an AI model which has previously learned how to create imagery from a massive sample (2.3 billion images) of real life imagery.
There are tons of tutorials on how to make good prompts for the many different models that are available. Some models specialise in life like imagery, some are more specific kinds of subjects, or specific art styles.
So, here are a few images in a kind of space alien/ HR Giger style that I have created. I have a lot more in many other styles that I will share soon, with more details on what is involved.
Thanks for checking this post out.
