Our second stop on the Creole Nature Trail was the Cameron Prarie National Wildlife Refuge. The building itself seems to be built into a pond, surrounded by fish, turtles and the sound of bullfrogs.
Next on the list was the Pintail Wildlife Drive, a three mile drive with a half mile walking trail. We did the walk first, and I may have seen a snake.
There was certainly a lot of noise and movement hidden by the tall reeds.
It was on the drive that I saw my first alligator, and then many more alligators.
