I have a fascinating insect for you.
While finally sorting through the mess in my computer, I stumbled upon an Alien like arthropod caterpillar that crossed my way last september.
Calliteara pudibunda is a moth that you can find all over europe.
The larvae is feeding on oaks, birch trees or beech trees, which are common in my area.
The moth flies from April to June and in late summer/fall you can see the larvae/caterpillars which are often light green yellowish, but sometimes even red.
They are lone-wolfs and when they are going to pupate they do it on the ground, often in a grassy area with leaves. They hibernate until becoming a moth in spring.
Watch the video of Calliteara pudibunda and don't mind me bawling at my partner for being annoying lol, we do like each other. 😄 😇
