I have another delicious recipe from my country, taro leaf porridge for Hive Top Chef πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ One Pot Dish for this week.

This dish very easy to eat and good for healthy. It is people’s favorite lived in countryside. They are like to cook for dinner.

The people live in city like to eat also but they are like to buy for eat not tired to cook.

Normally this food used fish with snails but some humans not used snails also. This dish we can to eat with vegetables fresh is flowers banana, sesbenia javanica, water lyly, bean sprouts and veggies the other.

Taro Leaf Porridge Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 20 taro stalks
  • 2 ears of corn
  • 10 pumpkin flowers
  • 1/3 cup soya chunks
  • 5 pumpkin vine shoots
  • ivy gourd leaves a little
  • amaranth leaves a little
  • 4 lemongrass stalks
  • 1 small piece turmeric
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 small piece galangal
  • 2 lime leaves
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1x 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 5 1/2 cups of water

These are vegetables cut already.

Grind lemongrass, turmeric, galangal, lime leaves and garlic and put water a little bit grind it very well. Put soya chunks in water 5 minutes.

Step 1

Heat oil and fry spice paste until aromatic.

Step 2

After put soya chunks stir it a little.

Step 3

Then put salt, sugar, soy sauce stir a little.

Step 4

Then clean rice three times and put in pot.

Step 5

Stir them a few minutes.

After a few minutes put taro trees and stir them 5 minutes.

Then put corn, stir.

After stir them a little.

Then put water and summer 15 minutes.

Step 10

After 15 minutes put pumpkin vine shoots stir and summer a little.

Step 11

Then put flowers pumpkin and all vegetables leaves stir and summer a few minutes and to taste.

When I go to the market I always saw taro trees but I never to buy. This is the first time I buy taro trees and cook in here Suriname.

My girls like to ate so much, they are said very yummy mom and me too ate so much. Have a nice day to everyone.
