1k HBD sales volume in May 2025 looks like a possiblity - the stats so far

Happy Customer Supermarket is still driving more sales in HBD and onboarding many newbies to the blockchain. When I was writing about how the Month of May 2025 would be on X, I wondered aloud whether it would be possible to do a monthly sales of 1000 HBD. Well just 10 days into the month, the answer seems to be in the affirmative. We have already gone more than half way line of that 1k goal and we really have a huge chance of hitting the mark.

While it has really been tasking to run a new startup fully choosing crypto as the preferred payment option, the results so far has been encouraging. I decided to see how far we have come in the first week of May 2025. Looking at a few stats, I have just big broad smiles on my face.

10 days in - the starts that matter

In little more than 7 days of May 2025, we have already generated sales in excess of 500 HBD. Check the exact figure in the image below.

Yes you saw it right - 517 HBD has been spent in Happy Customer supermarket already in the Month. That is really a high figure and it goes down to the power of leverage. I have been exploiting this powerful networking feature to boost the sales volume, rewarding customers for bringing their friends. In May alone, we have had big referrals from friends like @djnasa,@adasam and @pfinest1. These users have brought other friends signing them up and getting their commissions as well as my own small rewards each time the referrals buy from us.

The B2B aspect of the project has been pushed up in numbers. Happy Customer Supermarket now sells to up to 4 small groceries retailers. These smaller businesses have left their supplier and instead buy from us because they see big profits buying with discounts than they do with their former supplier. There are yet other important stats that I looked into while preparing this report.

Looking at the image above, you could easily see that Happy Customer Supermarket has already recorded 56 transactions in May. A high figure as you know. We are trying to encourage customers to do repeat purchases and keep them coming back. Retention is key in this business. Beyond the first time they spent HBD, what happens next is very important. From the Month of May 2025 going forward, we are keeping tabs on all new onboarded friends. The goal is to have them come back and spend more HBD and use Hive as a platform.

I will say a little more on retention later. But when we have many users coming back to shop with HBD, we are really having a big win rate when it comes to retention. Going hand in hand with this big transaction count is another interesting stat to consider. Check the image below

Did you notice that 76 HBD has been claimed at Happy Customer Supermarket? Another big number to be proud of. This definitely is as a result of many customers repeating purchases and getting many new ones as well to spend HBD. It's interesting to see these huge figure while the month is less than 2 weeks old. With big workshops being planned and other promotional activities close to taking place, the month of May could be our biggest month so far. We will see how far we can go. But so far, we are turning out impressive performances and May promises to be a good month for Happy Customer Supermarket.

Newbies, retention and more stock

The newbies count is quite impressive already. The number is 7 and this new friends have also made more than one visits. The newest friends and customers in question are:
@moneylord, @adasam, @cubanabishop, @glowhity, @nancy-mal, @chilucky, @favor2029.

We want to make sure that each person onboarded is retained. We are taking committed steps to ensure that they keep coming back. One way we do this is to stay in touch with them through various social media. Also offering them something as a reward to bring their friends to us has been another way to keep them coming back. I am confident that in the days and weeks ahead, we will have bigger numbers and higher retention rate

One thing we have done so far is to take note of any stock not available in our supermarket. The next time we restock, we add them. While funds have not been all available, we have increased the size of already existing goods and even ventured into newer areas. The goal iss to always have what the customer is looking for. So here are two big staples we added recently.

  • 50 KG bags of rice: Just like in other parts of the world, rice is a staple in Nigeria. It's a popular food on the family menu. We have many friends asking us to get them rice and since few days back, I have contacted a company to supply good rice as you can see them above and below.

I am confident to retain a good supply of rice in Happy Customer Supermarket. Each time a customer visits, they will always be able to get rice.

  • Garri (processes cassava flour): The most popular staple in South East Nigeria is garri. The image above is 1 full sack of garri. This staple is almost always on the menu of each family living in this part of Nigeria. I recently made arrangements to have a supplier bring garri to the supermarket and it's cool for the customers. They are happy to buy this staple at a discount price and it's part of the reason we are selling more.

In conclusion

It's been tough to run all this. Notice that I struggle to consistently write content now, doing a physical business has been really demanding. But being built in web3 has afforded me the opportunity to do something different. I appreciate all our Happy Customers and hope they will be coming back to spend more HBD soonest.
