41 in sixty

Yesterday we had 41mm in less than an hour, and then some. While it thundered, Rambo sat calmly in his spot.

Yes, it was dark. This was around 3.30 in the afternoon. We had to have the lights on while the rain pelted down, turning our roads into rivers and creating lakes and streams in the garden.

What follows is effectively a photo dump. Sorry. Not sorry.

First, rivers of mud down the road next to and up the way from our house.

The view from my office window

The view from my office door.

The lake at the end of the road

Rain pouring off the veranda roof

An indication of just how hard the rain was falling. Straight down - after a high wind

Another, closer shot of the water hurtling down the hill and "uncontainable" in the culverts

Streams across the lawn

Gushing out of the downpipe, flooding the garden: the mint will be happy

It was quite a thing. More rain is predicted, including for Saturday morning. With the Christmas market, I am praying not.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.
