Thank you to everyone who has sent good wishes to The Husband. Last evening's optimism was mislplaced. Tomorrow he'll be having quite radical surgery - both to sort out the problem that's been plaguing him - we now know - for a while, and to remove what is clearly a cancerous lesion.
He's not been able to eat solids for nearly a week. I am relieved that in hospital he's getting liquid nutrition - by mouth and intravenously.
It's going to be a long few days - possibly weeks - as he recovers and heals.
