Happy Friday my sweet foodie Friends! Do you have big plans for the weekend?
The Bird’s nest won’t be entertaining any feathered friends since Mr. Bird is still a bit stuffy. The sunny morning was enticing enough to hit the road. Little did I realize we would have a nice surprise on our way home.
Mr. Gator was lively this morning…
swimming across the canal. Luckily I was able to capture a brief shot before he escaped under the water.
I just had to stop!
The flowers were phenomenal! Brilliant colors! Beautiful Bougainville! It felt great to be outside!
And then, much to our surprise…
we noticed one of our neighbors offer a big wave and hello! He’s having surgery this week so we stopped to wish him well. As Mr. Bird chirpped hello our friend mentioned he had just returned from a fishing trip in the Gulf. He was proud to say their group brought back quite a few fresh snapper! Full of joy and kind words….oh and did I tell you he was a professional Chef? I'm slightly intimidated each time we talk food, lol
Next thing I knew we were heading home with a gift of fresh fish! Wow, this will be perfect to share with my friends on @foodfightfriday!!! Thanks to @jlsplatts, and sponsor @appreciator we get together each Friday to celebrate great food!
Blackened snapper anyone?
I love, love my Key West rub, packed with rich spices followed with a nice kick. I like to call it the icing on the cake! This fish was so fresh and tender, I really had to be careful.
Grilling didn’t take long…
just a few minutes on each side and this tasty treat was ready!
Of course…
I had to prepare crunchy coleslaw right? That and sliced fresh tomatoes, let’s just say yum, perfecto! Don't forget the lemon!
