The @NaturalMedicine community revolves around the use of its LOTUS token. The LOTUS token is currently used for entering into contests through burning a specified amount of the token. Burning the token is a means of potentially increasing value by decreasing circulating supply. In order to burn LOTUS tokens though, you first need to be in possession of LOTUS either by earning them through posts or by purchasing them on the market.
Purchasing LOTUS can seem like a daunting task if you're not used to using crytpocurrency markets. However, I assure you that it is much more simple than it first appears. I have put together this pictorial guide to help walk you through each step of the process. How to Buy LOTUS
Logging in
In order to begin any of the following steps, you will need to first head on over to https://www.hive-engine.com and log in.
Once you have landed on this page, you will need to click SIGN IN in the top right hand corner of the page. This will lead you to the sign in page where you can use either Hive Keychain or your posting key to sign in. Enter the proper credentials and click LOG IN.
Logging in will bring you back to the GET STARTED main page of Hive-Engine.
How to Deposit HIVE
Before you can purchase any LOTUS, you need to have something to make the purchase. Here I will show you how to deposit HIVE for use of purchasing LOTUS. Begin by clicking on the DEPOSIT link towards the top right side of the page.
This link will bring up a popup with a drop down list of different cryptocurrencies which can be deposited. HIVE will be automatically selected. Click on GET DEPOSIT INFO to proceed.
A new popup will appear which shows your available balances for depositing. Enter the amount of HIVE you wish to deposit in the provided space. You will notice that the amount you will receive upon depositing is shown below the provided space. A reduction may occur due to fluctuating values as seen here with 7 HIVE : 6.930 SWAP.HIVE.
Click on DEPOSIT HIVE to continue forth!
This will bring up a confirmation for the transaction. Click Continue to confirm the transaction.
You will then be prompted to sign in using Hive Signer. Enter your credentials and click Log in. Pictured here my login says Get started instead of Log in because I had to change accounts.
A new popup will appear to fully confirm the transaction on the blockchain. Click on Approve.
You will then be shown another popup with the transaction id.
Once you close this popup, back on the Hive-Engine page, you will see a popup stating CONFRIMING at the top. Click on the TRANSACTION SENT link at the bottom to refresh the information you just entered.
Next, click on WALLET to return to your wallet to check your balance.
Now that you have deposited your HIVE, its time to purchase yourself some LOTUS!
How to Buy LOTUS
From here you will want to click on the TOKENS link near the middle of the top of the screen.
Clicking this will bring you to a page which lists all of the different created tokens.
A search bar will be in the center of the page at the top below the site directory links. You will need to type "LOTUS" into this search bar to single out the LOTUS token.
Now that you have singled out the token you wish to purchase, you will notice three icons to the far right: an encircled "i", a back and forth arrow set, and a bullet point icon. For our purposes today, you will need to click on the back and forth arrow set.
You should now find yourself on the Market page for purchasing and selling of the LOTUS token. Great job so far! You're almost done.
Scroll down towards the bottom of the page until you see a box labeled Buy LOTUS. Fill out the required fields with how much LOTUS you'd like to purchase and at what price. The lowest last bid is shown beneath the text fields. Once you've filled everything out and are satisfied, click Buy LOTUS.
This will open a popup detailing the new buy order. Click BUY to proceed.
)Clicking BUY will initiate a similar transaction confirmation sequence as seen earlier, follow it through the same as previously.
A difference can be seen in this step in that your active/master password is required to confirm the transaction instead of your posting key.
Once you have clicked on TRANSACTION SENT in the final screen back on Hive-Engine, the site will automatically refresh the information. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for the LOTUS Market to find your Trade History.
Congratulations! You've officially made your successful purchase of LOTUS!
