Nils Arne Eggen has done several good things for the Norwegian football clubs. And he challenged different things in the football environments with the beliefs that the players and the audience had, and he made the impossible possible, and he was the best football friend you could wish, and he was the world’s best football coach, and many are missing he today, due to his death some days ago!
You know, football is a history and a story of events for different football clubs around the planet, and we need to lead them to get their performances and results even better and more deservable to remember for all times. Football is a philosophy of playing the football in different ways, and how you should win the matches, and what the players should do to be the best versions of themselves. We should not try to do things in badly ways, but we should aspire to meet the best results as we can with the player talents that we have from time to time, and we should get good results both at home and in international environments. And all things are about what you have in your head, and what you are doing at the field, and how you are becoming a better football player from day to day, and also by meeting all the good football teams, and there is a ranking about the best football clubs on the planet!
You know, Nils Arne Eggen was an engaged coach for football, and in Norway we remember him for his performances and results for Moss and Rosenborg. And Nils Arne is dead today, but when he was living, he managed to take Rosenborg on the international stage, and they even made goals on foreign fields! And Nils Arne launched the concept of the good foot, and that the players should play with self-confidence and strength, and that good interaction between the players when they are playing are the key factors for making results that are admired by many interesting football watchers. And being engaged with training and being good in shape and in football activities, that is the best ways of making preparations for the players, and life in football is just like sale where you are losing and winning, but in the long run we should be a winner of the matches we are playing! Nils Arne Eggen managed to win the league at home and also the cup, and therefore all people in Norway knew who Nils Arne Eggen was, and he was both funny and serious, and sometime he claimed the players to adjust the clock two hours back in time, but this is a wrong time, if you have adjusted the time in relation to where you are from time to time, and this was a funny action. And Nils Arne was smoking the cigarettes, and he was nervous when being the coach for playing different football games different places.
After some years learning in Europe, the great breakthrough came for Nils Arne and RBK in international environments, when they in 1995 qualified themselves for playing in the most generous of all tournaments, and that was Champions League. This masterpiece managed the team under his leadership in completely seven seasons in the period 1995-2002. We are here talking about an unheard of era in the history of Norwegian club football, regardless of how we are measuring such things. And getting the jobs and the opportunities, that is our own responsibility, but we are having talents, knowledges and potential just as being the human being as we have, and we can also develop ourselves in life.
Also internationally, the club's achievements aroused considerable attention. To play quarterfinal in Champions League (1996) at the expense of among the football club as Milan, that is to break boundaries for what was thought possible for a Norwegian football clubs, and other international football clubs like Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund experienced that, and Rosenborg was a club to remember and to respect in Europe.
We shine peace over the memory of Nils Arne Eggen, and we will never forget him. And there is a statue of him outside the stadium to Rosenberg, Lerkendal, in Trondheim. Nils Arne Eggen was cand.philol. with the Norwegian language, history and sports in his and other people’s professional circles.
