The history of music artists: The case of Soon-Mi Chung!

Soon-Mi Chung is a Norwegian viola, violinist and conductor of South Korean origin. She is educator at Barratt Due’s Institute of Music, and artistic director of Barratt Due’s Junior Orchestra. She is born on 22 February in 1952, and she is 69 years old just now. She comes from Seoul in South Korea. Her partner is Stephan Barratt-Due.

The board in the foundation Barratt Due’s Institute of Music accepted Thursday 24 September a unanimity setting from the evaluation committee. The committee is stating among all things: «Qualified methods and commitment are characterizing her work as a teacher and has also led to that she is responsible for the longterm training of some of the most successful young viola players in Norway today. The results of her teaching career show her highly qualified for the position as professor. The emphasis of the evaluation of promotion is the outstanding pedagogical commitment and competence of Soon-Mi Chung Barratt-Due.

Chung is a music teacher at the Barratt Due’s Institute of Music and artistic director of Barratt Dues Juniororkester. She got her musical education at the Conservatory of Music in Paris, Menuhin Music Academy and San Francisco Conservatory, and debuted in Oslo in 1982.
