When we face challenges in life, do we view it as a problem? Or as an opportunity?

- This image seemed to be a nice illustration of where this new Hive community is, as it gets started. Clear enough what the goal is, but still a work-in-progress we can assume. In time, sharpness and clarity will improve.
Choosing the latter, I am going to invest my time into writing this post about what I experienced in my attempts to join a new community on the Hive blockchain - the One Bitcoin Club community.

Brief Background
Somewhere in my wonderings over these first few days, I stumbled across this post, by @thecrazygm, about the One Bitcoin Club community.
Skimming and reading through the various posts found there, I was immediately both intrigued and interested. I think any project that links the outside crypto world with the one found inside the Hive blockchain is good.
Particularly, as in this case, if it involves the #1 crypto - Bitcoin. I happen to have some, both as a HODL investment, as well as having staked Stacks (STX) for years (which earns more BTC).
After posting some enthusiasm about my discovery, I jumped in and immediately ran up against what ultimately proved to be an insurmountable problem. A short time later, I got some welcome help from @ecoinstant.
While he clearly states the easiest way is to create a new account, I don't mind a challenge. I decided to invest my time in seeing if I could still manage to join the community with an existing account.

UX - User Experience
Here are URLs to the 3 key resources anyone interested in joining this new community currently has available, to get started:
- Create A Bitcoin Social Account: Key word. Create ... 🤔
- One Bitcoin Club: The UI for posting in this new community.
- How to Set Up Xverse Ordinals Wallet: YouTube on step-by-step instructions to set up an Xverse wallet (link embedded in #1), to hold your BTC. Note: Ledger-backed!
In looking over these links, before making a final decision about whether or not to go any further, this was key:

UX thought process:
- The user has to knowingly bypass two plainly highlighted "Get Started" buttons on the Home page. Each of which show nothing encouraging about setting up an existing Hive account.
- I still clicked on it, just to see what that UI shows the user. Both the dialog title and subtitle, once entering your account name, seems to indicate possibly being able to set up an existing account.
Recommendation: Change the wording. Put in error trapping, so it is not possible to proceed without having the account creation steps. Better? Hide it altogether? - Had to stop to create an Xverse wallet (not covered here) and transfer BTC into it.
Result, once back to step 3?

Success, right? Nope!
TLDNR: There is currently no viable way forward to join the One Bitcoin Community with an existing Hive account.
- Learning as I go, it was amazing to learn that some people have 100 accounts!? With time constraints a major concern of mine, I have no idea how one goes about even beginning to stay on top of that many!

Inevitable Challenges of MVP Strategy
Developers face a real challenge, when making a final decision on whether or not to release their product "to the wild." The MVP strategy is a common method for addressing it.
MVP? Minimum. Viable. Product.

What goes into their decision? Not good enough, with a poor ROI, as a result? Too good, with not enough ROI to cover costs, in the foreseeable future? Just right?
Books have been written on this topic. Passionate discussions have been held, are being held, and will continue to be held, in debating the pros and cons, in attempting to get this right.
The definition found in this excellent introduction to the topic of MVP strategy:
"A Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is a development strategy in product management where a new product or service is created with the minimum features necessary to satisfy early adopters and gather feedback for future development."
Good. This post has been written as my contribution to the latter part - feedback for future development.

Q4: Yes, it was clearly stated that anyone currently interested in joining this new Hive community has to create a new Hive account. Reason presented being that it is focused on increasing user adoption and bringing in new people, from the outside crypto world.
Fair enough.
I will almost certainly not be creating a new account, just for this purpose. My efforts to get around it, as detailed briefly in the previous section, failed. Not viable enough yet ...
While having no idea if or when, I will hope this limitation will be addressed, at some point in the future.

Future of the One Bitcoin Club community?
In the online world, the UI and UX experiences of users are make or break. Who really have no idea what goes into putting together what is front of them.
Is that important?
The benefit of the doubt should be given to those who are working hard to bring to life what they had in mind, in their original vision. Give them time. We will find out soon enough.
With this post now written, I will patiently look forward to the day when the original vision behind building this new community comes more sharply into focus.

Other groups, which may want to know about this opportunity and take a look, have been tagged. What are your thoughts, as you look into the potential and promise of this new community on the Hive blockchain?
Best wishes, until we meet again,
