Introducing Hive Rocks
Dear Hive
Maybe some of you are familiar with a growing trend of painting rocks and then planting or hiding them somewhere?
Rocks all over the world are being painted and then intentionally abandoned on hikes or walks in forests, parks or memorial sites for others to find and keep. Some people who find them even end up actually placing them elsewhere.
Occasionally people take these rocks home and collect them as decoration for their homes or even gift them to their friends. A few people also post them on social media, which was initially the idea. Some of these artists paint magnificent art on these rocks. Anyone who paints can appreciate the effort, work and value that goes into this art form.
Here is an example of the back of two rocks:
Here you can see what else was added to the back of the rock:
- A Title for a Social Media Group
- A Postal Code
- Initials
Here is another example of a rock created for a social media community from Switzerland called Swiss Rocks or CH-Rocks.
Here on Hive Rocks the artists and retrievers of such rocks can earn rewards in a cryptocurrency called Hive from people who find them and post them on our Blockchain. Of course anyone is welcome to pay tribute to other rock communities and post any rocks here. Ideally artists who paint rocks should sign up to hive or get encouraged to create an account to possibly claim rewards for their art. They can also share the process and post it in various other communities to get incentivised. If anyone possibly posts rocks on the hive blockchain belonging to someone who isn't on hive, they might get encouraged to sign up later. Equally retrievers who sign up, get to earn for finding rocks and posting them.
If you paint rocks, can you imagine earning from it?
How?
The Hive Blockchain is a Social Media Network made up of users and witnesses who make up the a decentralised value economy. It's owned by the community and not by any corporation. It's decentralised. It works with a cryptocurrency called Hive. Users earn rewards for posting their original and creative content. Stakeholders who invested in Hive or earned it, are allowed to distribute rewards to other users in a weekly rewards pool, allocated to incentivise users for good acting. Users become stake holders and also earn interest on the hive they accumulate. This also gives them voting power to earn a part of other peoples posting rewards. Through voting and discovering gems early, they can earn a part of the rewards from a post they are voting on in a process called curation. The fewer hive are on the open market, the more demand rises for this cryptocurrency, hence the price goes up. Hive is the most efficient Blockchain based Social media and has a track record of maintaining a user base of decent individuals that make up it's awesome communities. Hive is also the most censorship resistant publication platform on the internet right now and truly sets the stage for free speech. With it's video platform http://3speak.tv and it's upcoming SPK Network, initiated by @bobinson @vaultec @starkerz and @theycallmedan, Hive is growing into a powerful ecosystem running on newer layers of the internet, expanding to Web 3.0 technology protocols.
Rules
On Hive Rocks, we add our hive username on the back of the rock and a link to Hive Rocks or peakd.com/c/hive-127783/created on peakd or ecency.com/created/hive-127783 . We also add the user name. For example @username . One should make sure a retriever might find your account, so it is also wise to add peakd.com/@username or ecency.com/@username in clear and readable letters.
On Hive Rocks we share a minimum of 50% beneficiary rewards with the artist who painted the rock. Finders must click on advanced before publishing their posts and add beneficiaries, where they type in the @username of the artist found on the back of the rock. We advise that it would only be fair to give an artist even up to 80% beneficiary rewards to show kindness and appreciation. After all you found a great piece of art to decorate your home.
Once more as a List
Add to the back of the rock:
- Hive username or written link with username
- Link to Hive Rocks Community (optional)
- Artist Name
- Postal Code (optional)
We are looking forward to seeing beautifully painted art on rocks, curating them and a community of engaged artists and rock hunters retrieving and documenting this amazing movement.
