Can you believe it’s Fall already?
It didn’t even say excuse me to Summer - it literally just pushed it out of the way and barged on in.
I started seeing the leaves turning colors and falling gracefully to the ground. I knew I didn’t have much longer to catch the green so I decided to do this blooming flower post today.
I’ve always wanted to frame a crocheted flower perfectly in the ground making it look as if the flower was really blooming.
Who’s this flower for?
ɪᴛ’s ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ!
I’ve shared this flower here before. It’s one of the first flowers I’ve ever made and have used it for several things: hats, bags and to decorate a few accessories.
It’s a really easy and fun flower to make and I’ll share the pattern info below.
There are many flower patterns out there and many different ways to make them.
I prefer a fuller flower - one with more dimension and character. However it depends on what project you are using them for because sometimes a flatter flower is more suitable. I just like the look of a fuller flower much better.
Here is the process on how to make this flower. I used an H/8 hook, US 5mm:
Chain 55.

Row 1 - Chain 1, skip 2 chains from hook and then sc all the way across.

Row 2 - Chain 4, skip 2 stitches then hdc into third stitch; ~Chain 3, skip 2 stitches then hdc into third stitch; Repeat from ~ all the way across.

Row 3 - ~Chain 1 then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet, 1 Double Crochet, 1 Triple Crochet, 1 Double Crochet and 1 Half Double Crochet into the first loop you made in the previous row. Slip stitch down into the loop then slip stitch into the next loop. Repeat from the ~ all the way across, making sure to finish off with a slip stitch.
These are your flower petals.

Fasten off but make sure to leave a long enough strand to sew your flower together.
To form your flower, lay your strip of petals down and begin rolling it up from one end:

You'll see the flower start to form:

Keep going until you have gathered up the entire strip. Hold it in place as you sew it together with the long strand you left earlier and your tapestry needle.

I really hope you enjoyed the blooming flower I crocheted for ʏᴏᴜ! ☺️
