Conclave Arcana Card Details

image.png

Earlier today, the team added all the Conclave Arcana cards to the Mavs server (https://next.mavs-sl.com/). This means we can now see what is likely 95% completed for the upcoming set! I say 95% because there's always a possibility for last-minute changes, although at this point I assume it's likely most of these, if not all, are final.

For convenience (and for those who can't access the Mavs server) I wanted to make all cards available here.

Also for convenience, here's an updated diagram showing what each new ability icon is and what the new abilities do.

NEUTRAL CARDS

Takeaways:

  1. Legendary cards are VERY powerful. As a result, I may be looking to get some Legendary Packs to guarantee more of those. Cards like the Inept Healer, Jicarilla, Palifala, Graybrow, and Moribund Arrowbait are all going to be staples. They will be in high demand.
  2. There is 1 (ONE!) no-attack card in the ENTIRE core set (the Conclave Artificer, a neutral card). Of course there may be some in upcoming promos (which will therefore be in HIGH demand, but what this means is that the Rebellion no-attack cards will be even more valuable as a result, particularly since there are 3 CA cards with Weapons Training to add to the 5 in Rebellion.
  3. Bloodlines are a LOT of fun. Not only will they dramatically enhance gameplay by adding combos we hadn't seen before, but they also add a massive element to lore in my opinion. I've had tons of fun looking at what bloodline older cards are in. And, as I mentioned in the hangout the team had earlier, I believe Eternal Tofu's bloodline is misspelt - it should say "Furry Deity". Just sayin' @breakingbenjamin.
  4. The art is incredible. The cards pop, while maintaining the recognizable Splinterlands look. Not much more to say on that point. I love it. Well done @nateaguila & team.
  5. There are as many Hippos Ulund as there are Humans. From what I can tell those are the two most represented bloodlines in the set.
  6. There are 7 Archons in the set currently. Of course there will be 6 more coming from the player-designed cards, but the first of those will only be around in 4 months (since there will be 3 non-Archon airdrops before those, assuming it follows what was done for Rebellion). In any case, the currently available Archons (1 in each primary Splinter, 2 in Dragon) are going to be the staples for a while, and those with Rebellion Archons will have a heavy advantage in Modern until player-designed Archons arrive.

It's going to take a while to digest all of the cards, and of course to play with them all. Therefore I'm in no position right now to give tiers to any of them. All I can say is I see a LOT of cards that I love and can't wait to play with. My biggest concern right now is (1) finding more funds to buy more packs, and (2) debating whether I'm going to buy more Midnight Potions so I can open my packs as early as possible.

T-minus ~4 days folks! We're almost there!
