Viena no es una ciudad que uno asocia con Carnavales, pero efectivamente se celebran de manera modesta y hay ciertos desfiles. Las fotos que muestro aquí pertenecen a uno de esos desfiles, las tomé en el año 2014.
Vienna is not a city that we usually associated with Carnivals, but this holiday is celebrated there with some parades. However the celebration is very modest. I show some photos of a Carnival parade, I took them in 2014.

Hay que recordar que los carnavales son muy anteriores al cristianismo, y su finalidad era celebrar el fin del invierno y el renacimiento de la vida en la primavera próxima a comenzar. Claro está que esta concepción del carnaval ha cambiado con el tiempo.
We have to remember that the Carnivals are older than the Christianity. Their origins are based in celebrating the end of winter and the life renewal in the coming spring. Certainly this conception has changed in modern times.
