Happy Monday, Hivers and Stackers! What makes your Monday magnificent?
Last week, a fellow stacker, @silverd510, showed a Morgan Dollar on a Monday! He has an extensive collection of graded and raw Morgan Dollars, which I think he will once again be showing us every Monday under another of his new tags #MorganMonday.
@ronavel is another member of the #silvergoldstackers community and an avid collector of coins that includes graded Morgan Dollars. Between the two of them, @silver510 and @ronavel may just have the coins for all the years that the United States Mint produced the Morgan US Dollar from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921.
I am not a collector of coins and most of the US Dollars that I possess are circulated versions. I do have a small collection of Mint State US Peace Dollars because the Peace Dollar is my favorite of the US Dollar coins.
Last year I showed an 1888 coin sent to me as a bonus coin by stacker @stokjockey who is in the business of flipping precious metals. It was a coin of interest because it bears the triple 8 number. It was then that my lovely and brilliant stacking sister @kerrislravenhill suggested that I should start collecting 1888 year-dated coins. In fact, my sis @kerrislravenhill gifted me with an 1888 coin early this year.

I bought this coin primarily for the mint date of 1888. It was sold as Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coin. I am not versed in grading, but I found this description from this source that I think describes the quality and condition of my 1888 Morgan Dollar coin. How to Grade Morgan Dollars
