Plant Profile: New Series

Hello Hive Friends... especially Hive Gardeners and plant lovers!

I have a fascination with botany. I really enjoy taking pictures of plants and want to learn more about them. I am creating a new Series called Plant Profiles. My goal is to highlight at least one plant a month.

Life Cycle
The life cycle in plants is a series of stages, from the germination of the seed to the completion of reproduction of that plant.


Life cycle of a Plant

Type
Annuals take one year to complete their life cycle
Biennial take two years to complete their life cycle, germinating and growing roots and leaves in their first year, flowering, setting seed and dying in their second year.
Perennial live for several years after germination
Monocarpic plants produce seeds only once, but may take several years to grow to maturity.
Polycarpic plants are those that flower and set seeds many times before dying.
